Hello! I have noticed that the price is "separated" every time a price is set for a value of more than 4 digits. Such as "1 000" "12 000", etc.
I have asked some users and commented with them (Spanish speaking). And we have concluded that it is better to "join" the prices with a "." (which in the Spanish system is not a decimal. The character we use to determine a decimal is ","), resulting in a value of "1.000" "12.000" or "10.000.000".
It is much more pleasing to the "Spanish" eye to see a number in this way, rather than separated by a space (which, although the idea was correct, could be further improved).

- Hello Nacho! I agree completely, and so did the first group of Spanish translators on the wiki. Unfortunately, as of mediawiki v1.21, the standard is to use a space instead of a dot. It's not easy to find the source for this decision, but I did find this: https://github.com/dantman/mediawiki-core/blob/master/HISTORY (under "Languages updated in 1.21" it says "(bug 34977) Now formatted numbers in Spanish use space as separator for thousands, as mandated by the Real Academia Española.")
- I searched the RAE website and found nothing. I google-searched for "mediawiki number format standards", and again found nothing (most frustrating!)
- If you refer to https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Magic_words/es#Formato and then try it yourself, you will see that
{{formatnum:1.000.000.000}}produces 1,000,000,000 (not what we want). If we try{{formatnum:1000000000}}, we get 1 000 000 000, and{{formatnum:1,000,000,000}}produces 1 000 000 000.
- If you switch to another language wiki, you'll see different results with the same code. German and Turkish use a dot, but French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, and Portuguese use a space. The other languages use a comma.
- I will keep searching for a solution, but I may not be able to change it.
- I do have some good news, though. In v1.6, the game will use "o" for "oro" instead of "G" for gold. I asked ConcernedApe personally for this change after our last discussion, and he agreed. So, the wiki will also use an "o" instead of nothing.

- It's a pity, but I did some more research and indeed the RAE has ruled in this tweet that any number longer than 4 digits must be written with a space, as it is now.
- It's a clash that has affected almost the entire Spanish community, but it has been ruled since 1948 by another Organisation. But well, that's the way it stays.
- Regarding the change of the letter "G", I have also consulted with some users and they think that it is better to make two options.
- Keep the "G", but it would no longer apply to "Gold", but to the Spanish word "Ganancia" or in English "Gains" / "Profits".
- Or not having any letter next to the numbers at all, leaving only the number itself.
- The problem with the change with the letter "o" is that it looks a lot like "0", and we know that if you are not looking at it but reading it quickly, it can be read as a much larger value than it is.
- And also the letter "o" is used a lot as a coordinating conjunction to indicate an alternative. Example: "¿Manzanas o naranjas?" (apples or oranges?). So if we put "1000o - 2500o" in a table it could confuse readers.
- All these options have to be evaluated and considered, my opinion on the order of the currency symbol has not changed! 😉

- I'm glad you were able to find a source for the decision to use a space. At some point, I may be able to change the Spanish wiki's behavior (to use a dot instead of a space), since, like I said, the very first group of translators was quite confused about the space. (It's been almost 6 years and I still remember their discussions.) But it would take a lot of hacking, and right now I have my hands full trying to replace arrays in every single template where they're used, in all 12 languages. 🥴
- But, the game uses dots instead of spaces, and so should the wiki! So, it is on my "to do" list!!
- It might help you visualize the use of "o" instead of "G" if you look at the Italian wiki: Carovana del Mercante (for the wiki's look) and Inventario (for the look in-game). The word "o" means "or" in Italian as well, and there doesn't seem to be any confusion... ("apples or oranges" = "mele o arance" in Italian).
- Note that there is no space before/after the "–" in Italian, so the Spanish display will be wider on pages like Carovana del Mercante, but otherwise will look the same. If you hate it, I can always make the "o" smaller. Example:
300 – 1 000o
